They do work in the majority of the population. If they aren't working for you, you're either a freak or you do not really have an allergy, or both. Diphenhydramine hydrochloride is the most effective OTC medication. It makes me sleepy, but it works. It's also cheaper than the others. Use it and skip the rest.
